Wishing to diversify it's actions and forms of communication,the Romanian Olympic Academy organized at Predeal,betwen 5-8 july 2007,The National Program of Education through Sport and implementation of olympic education among pupils:"Clean sport in a clean world".
One of the subprograms was the olympic pentathlon for school of the third millenium.The contest included five distinct sections:3 sport contests,an olympic culture contest and another for artistic expression (at the competitor's choice).
According to the rules,the sport contests included:
- speer running on a 30 m distance;
- jumping from a fixed place;
- throwing of the basketball with two hands above the head.
The olympic culture knowledge was evaluated by answers given by the participants to the 10 questions from the history of olympism and the olympic games,included in a questionnaire.
As for the artistic contest,this was conceived and structured to give the children the possibility to express their sensibility,artistic talent and fantasy.
The appreciation system is a good thing,it determines the making of classifications.Based on the scoring tables ,the results obtained by the children were transformed in points,adding these determining the final classification.
