"The International symposium which took place in Baile Herculane on the 9-11th of may was named "Multiculture through Olympic Movement",was organised by the Romanian Olympic Academy - Caras Severin branch,by the District Scholar Inspectorate,by the House of the Teachng Body and by the Mayorality of the city of Resita, the event was included in the XVII-th edition of the manifestation entitled "The didactic of the disciplines".Fabien Fereaux (Belgia) - representantive of the EUropean Union and prof.Paul Copu (education proffesor at the Oklahoma University ,Usa) were guests of honor from abroad.
The initiative to include a thematic dedicated to olympism proved to be fruitful. The majority of the communications approached from different angles, the olympic phenomenon, demonstrating not only the knowledge of imnportant aspects, but also of the interest for the semination of those among the young generation.
Among the essays presented,we mention here : "Education for peace and fair play" (prof.Mariana Jurcut - Pedagogic highschool Caransebes),"Olympic Games - bridge across the centuries" (Prof.Ioan Sfetcu and Grigore Dragila - general schools from Cornereva, and Baile Herculane),'Pleading for olympic education - a possible discipline in romanian education" (prof.Cristiana Schmaller - Nr.7 School,Resita),Olympism as doctrine of fraternity between body and soul" (prof.Sorina Corcoata,T.Vuia Highschool,Resita).
The discussions started by the theoretical approaches have revealed a communication pottential favourable for the instructive-educational process, indicating passion for the domain and in some cases ,a real competence and opening for the olympic phenomenon. In the same time, the shapers who are the physical education teachers underlined the essential role of olympism in the training for life of young people, and the stimulating function of sport in the intercultural dialogue at the national minorities level who make up the demographic picture of the south west part of the country.
